This is a very generic question for anyone who is diabetic. However most of us are not very clear about what is Type1 and what is Type2. How do you deal with type1 or type2 diabetes?
Let’s see what they are!
Type 1 Diabetes
Our body produces insulin, which is a hormone, that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce enough insulin.
This kind of diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults. Less than 5% of people with diabetes have this form of the disease. With the help of medical intervention and therapy children learn to live their balanced life.
Type 2 Diabetes
Our body does not use the insulin that was produced. This is called Type 2 Diabetes. This condition is also called as insulin resistance. This is the most common form of diabetes. In the initial stage your pancreas makes extra insulin to make up for it. But, over time it isn’t able to keep up and can’t make enough insulin to keep your blood glucose at normal levels. This causes your blood glucose levels to raise higher. This is also known as hyperglycemia.
